Aqua — Drum screen

The drum filter is a fully automatic, self-cleaning filtration system designed to remove solids from process water. Contaminated water enters the rotating drum, where it is filtered through a fine mesh screen mounted along the drum's circumference. A fixed cleaning strip continuously removes accumulated debris from the outside of the screen as the drum rotates, ensuring consistent filtration performance.

Separated sludge is collected and discharged via a dedicated sludge outlet, while the filtered (clean) water exits the system and is directed to a downstream treatment unit, such as a DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) system.

In situations where the screen becomes clogged and water can no longer pass through efficiently, the system is equipped with an internal overflow compartment. This safety feature allows water to bypass the filtration screen and recirculate through the system, ensuring uninterrupted flow while preventing unfiltered solids from contaminating the clean water stream.
